Events

This side event of the Forum of Latin American and Caribbean Countries on Sustainable Development 2021, organised by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will take place thanks to the joint work of UNESCO, through its Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Working Group on Education and Human Mobility and the Regional Education Group.

Its main objective is to share the main challenges and transformative actions to guarantee the right to education for people in a situation of mobility in the current regional context.

Other objectives:

• To discuss the main challenges that national education systems have had to face in order to guarantee the right to education for people in mobility.
• To share responses and transformative actions at regional level, considering good practices of policy transformation.
• To examine the importance of monitoring the participation and retention of mobile people in national education systems, introducing regional initiatives that seek to address this need.
