Events

OHCHR (the leading UN entity on human rights and more specifically human rights education), together with UNESCO (the leading UN agency on education and with a strong focus on Global Citizenship Education and Human Rights Education), as well as the Office of the Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth (leading on #Youth2030) will jointly implement the fourth phase of the World Programme for Human Rights Education.

It is in this spirit that the three organizations put together this “kick-off” event to engage youth, hear their thoughts and ideas on human rights and human rights education, and amplify their voices before delving into the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2021.

The kick-off event seeks to

• engage young people on the topic of human rights, ahead of the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2021;
• introduce human rights and human rights education principles;
• highlight the importance of human rights education for youth and their role, as well as global support to this end;
• encourage youth engagement in human rights education and provide relevant guidance.

The ECOSOC Youth Forum 2021 & Human Rights Education is opened to the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2021 registered participants only.
