A panel will bring together representatives from foundations, UNESCO, the GEM Report, OECD, and governments to reflect on the role of philanthropy and other non-state actors in strengthening education systems in developing countries to achieve SDG 4.
The discussion will inform the development of the concept note for the 2021 GEM Report on non-state actors in education. The 2021 GEM Report will examine the scale of the phenomenon and emerging trends, as well as the evidence on the implications of non-state involvement in education, including philanthropic organizations.
