MOST School on "SDGs agenda as a framework for sustainable development in Lebanon"

The MOST School will be organized through a collaborative efforts among UNESCO, Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO (Natcom) and Universite Saint Joseph (USJ) on the theme is on "SDGs agenda as a framework for sustainable development in Lebanon".

The school aims to enhance research policy linkages on emerging policy issues in Lebanon and support national dialogue and ownership of the SDG process in Lebanon.

A series of lectures and seminars will generate academic debate on what the SDGs should mean in Lebanon based on short discussion papers/statements, which aim to provide a foundation for a multi-stakeholder dialogue on the SDGs in Lebanon.

The group of participants will include 40-45 students including young professionals of key ministries, Master/ PhD students and young activists from civil society organizations (CSO) in Lebanon. A team of 10-15 trainers will include academics, policy makers, CSO activists and UN experts.

There will be a mixture of presentation, group work and group discussions. The main working language will be Arabic. Simultaneous translation (English) will be provided for selected sessions.

MOST Schools are capacity-building activities focused on strengthening the competencies for evidence-informed decision-making in Member States. They help develop the capacity of researchers and decision-makers to translate knowledge into action. They are part of UNESCO's Management of Social Transformations (MOST) Programme.
