This event, organised as part of the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development, highlights the importance of building bridges between the different aspects of Target 4.7. when addressing Education for Sustainable Development. It includes an interactive discussion on the importance of transformative education and highlights best practices for integrating SDG target 4.7 globally.
This session addresses the topic of transformative education, meaning education that reflects target 4.7. of the SDGs. Target 4.7 seeks to ensure that, by 2030, all learners acquire knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development.
