Given the exceptional circumstances surrounding COVID-19 and in accordance with federal government advice, the ‘No Frills’ conference will no longer be held in Perth on 8-10 July 2020.
Now for the good news! With such a strong program already in place, we're taking the 29th National VET Research Conference ‘No Frills’ ONLINE for the first time ever.
With a comprehensive range of live and pre-recorded content, including keynote speakers, focus sessions and over 30 presentations, #NoFrills2020 will immerse you in the future of VET.
#NoFrills2020 is happening online from 7-10 July 2020.
'No Frills' is a well-known annual national conference where researchers, practitioners, providers and industry representatives come together and share knowledge, ideas, insights and solutions around Australia's VET sector.
The conference also provides valuable professional development opportunities through a program of hands-on pre-conference workshops or focus sessions incorporating activities on data and research analytics, and research practice.
The theme for the 2020 conference is Workforce ready: challenges and opportunities for VET.
The successful transition of an employee from education to job is essential to building a strong economy. But in a world where workplaces are rapidly evolving alongside technology and market demand, what does it mean to be ‘workforce ready’? And what is VET’s role in preparing students for work?
There is much debate over how our future workforce landscapes will look, or what skills our workers will need to be successful at their jobs. However, one thing is clear, almost all workers will need to upskill or retrain throughout their working lives.
What challenges and opportunities does this present for VET, and what plans should we be making for the future?

Online professional development focus sessions will run on Tuesday 7 July. Delegates will have the opportunity to attend four focus sessions throughout the day. These sessions will take the place of our popular pre-conference PD workshops. Our workshops usually cost extra to attend, but this year everyone who registers for the conference will have access to all focus sessions.
Given 'No Frills' is being hosted fully online, you may think networking and interaction opportunities are non-existent. This is not the case. There will be plenty of networking features for those who want to connect with others at the conference.
This year we are offering full conference access for $195.00. Registration will cover all live and pre-recorded sessions, including keynote speakers, focus sessions and over 30 presentations.
Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email. This email will state that you have registered, however it won’t have information on how to access the conference.
Approximately one week prior to the conference start date, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the online conference platform.
With online conference delivery, sponsorship opportunities have been modified to better suit the virtual environment. More information to come shortly.
In the meantime, please feel free to contact Stephen Tormet at stephentormet@ncver.edu.au or 08 8230 8451 to discuss your sponsorship requirements.
