The Media and Information Literacy Forum and exhibition will incorporate the three fundamental principles of the Dubai Expo 2020 – innovation, collaboration, and inspiration. Broadly, the initiative will address how media and information literacy is crucial to tackling disinformation and misinformation and the attendant impact on development, democratic governance, and peace. The event will primarily underscore how media and information literacy can enable teachers and youth to capitalize on the learning, social engagement, and creativity offered by the exponential growth of information and digital technologies and the explosion of new forms of media. It will foreground the increased ‘mobility’ of information, media, and technology – connecting nations.
