제5회 세계시민교육 국제회의 사전 웨비나 개최

유네스코 아시아태평양 국제이해교육원은 오는 9월 23일 (수요일) 오후 7시(한국시간)부터 2시간 동안 제5회 세계시민교육 국제회의 사전 웨비나를 개최한다.

 

아태교육원은 2016년부터 매해 세계시민교육 국제회의를 개최해왔으며 작년에는 전세계 65개국에서 600명 이상의 국·내외 참가자들이 참석했다. 올해로 5회째를 맞는 이번 국제회의는 코로나 상황에 대응하여 온라인으로 플랫폼을 바꿔 운영될 예정이다. 11월 3~5일로 예정된 본회의에 앞서 오는 9월 23일에는 본회의에서 다루어질 논의를 심화하기 위해 주요 쟁점을 탐색하는 사전 웨비나가 열린다.

 

사전 웨비나의 주제는 ‘Challenges and Roles of GCED in Times of Pandemic (팬데믹 시대 세계시민교육의 역할과 도전)’이며 팬데믹 시대에 요구되는 세계시민교육의 역할을 고찰하고 글로벌 연대를 재활성화하는 것을 목표로 한다. 특히 현 팬데믹 위기를 극복하기 위한 다양한 세계시민교육 관련 최신 지식, 경험, 정보를 비롯하여 변혁적 교수학습법 등을 공유할 예정이다.

 

일란 켈만(Ilan Kelman) 런던대학교 재난보건학과 교수의 기조 발표로 시작될 이 웨비나는 세계시민교육에 앞장서고 있는 교육자, 교수, 청년, 시민사회 실천가들의 경험과 비전을 공유하는 패널토론으로 구성되어 있다.
