UNESCO and the Fundación Santillana invite to reflect on the possible deep and fundamental transformations in which societies, politics, economies and even cultures may be organized in the future and to inquire into the role that education can play in facilitating them.

In the context of the COVID-19 crisis, the focus will be on what can be learnt from it and the actions needed to protect and transform education for the interests of humanity and the planet.

UNESCO’s Education Research and Foresight programme and the Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, together with Fundación Santillana, jointly host this webinar. It will be held in Spanish and will feature four members of the International Commission on the Futures of Education, who will exchange ideas with one another and engage with online attendees through Q&A. The group of panelists will be composed of

-Mr. Cristovam Buarque, Emeritus Professor, University of Brasília
-Mrs. Elisa Guerra, Founder, Colegio Valle de Filadelfia, Mexico
-Mr. António Nóvoa, Ambassador of Portugal to UNESCO
-Mrs. Tarcila Rivera Zea, Executive Director, Centro de Culturas Indígenas del Perú
