UNESCO is convening the 2019 GAP Key Partner Network meeting in order to identify lessons learned from five years of GAP implementation. The meeting will also serve to take stock of where Key Partners stand on their current implementation activities and to share information with and among GAP Key Partners.
The Global Action Programme (GAP) was launched at the World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development in 2014 (Aichi-Nagoya, Japan) for the period 2015-2019. After an extensive consultation process, which also included GAP Key Partners, UNESCO Member States will decide this year on a future of ESD framework to follow up on the GAP. Upon approval of the framework, UNESCO will elaborate it into a programme, including implementation structures.
