For humans, Storytelling has been a way of connecting and communicating since we first sat around fires. What can this age old and universal behaviour illuminate for us in terms of our practice as educators?

This online training workshop from Bridge 47 and IDEAS (International Development Education Association of Scotland) will recognise the role and potential of storytelling in our practice as educators and will enhance our capacity as storytellers.

The training will be led by Bobby McCormack, Director of Development Perspectives in Ireland. Bobby comes with a wealth of experience in leading creative and engaging training sessions through the lens of transformative education and active global citizenship.

Together, we will explore the work of Joseph Campbell through his "Hero’s Journey" framework and examine how values and frames are important considerations in our work. Resources will be provided in advance of and after completion of the training while some tasks will be presented in order to encourage and increase the relevance of this opportunity.

Anyone with a good working knowledge of or interest in practices in Global Citizenship Education, Learning for Sustainability, and other transformative education approaches is welcome – from established organisations to independent practitioners.

The training will take place online using Zoom. The link to join this, along with resources and a more detailed programme for the workshop, will be made available to you closer to the time.
