Promoting ICT-driven Innovation in Higher Education in Asia-Pacific
With generous support from the Shenzhen Funds-in-Trust and the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHEI), UNESCO Bangkok launched a two-year project (2016-2018) on ICT-driven innovation to explore the role of blended learning and MOOCs in improving teaching and learning and strengthening institutional governance. During the project, a new self-assessment framework on blended learning for quality higher education was piloted in Cambodia and Sri Lanka.
To consolidate lessons learned from the Shenzhen Funds-in-Trust project, UNESCO Bangkok will co-organize the Regional Consultation on ICT-Driven Innovation in Higher Education in Asia-Pacific from 24-25 September 2019 in Shenzhen, China. Together with ICHEI and the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and with technical assistance and expertise from the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), project partners will prepare a joint policy brief on ICT-driven innovation in higher education in Asia-Pacific and launch an action plan for applied research and development in the region.
