The Economist Educational Foundation

The Economist Educational Foundation was set up in 2012 by Emily Evans while she was working as a conference producer at The Economist. Emily knew that developing young people’s news literacy was crucial to tackling inequality in education. Bringing topical debates to life on-stage inspired her to find ways to make these discussions happen in classrooms across the country. The Foundation started by running exciting news-themed events for children.

Our Report Card assesses the ability of countries to work together to solve global problems across six domains: human rights, gender equity, environmental stewardship, poverty reduction, governance, and global peace and justice.

The Peace and Conflict Review is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the publication of high quality academic articles in the field of peace and conflict studies. Issues are published on a semi-annual basis, in Fall and Spring, and generally include a selection of scholarly articles, conference papers, and reviews of academic work published elsewhere. The Peace and Conflict Review is hosted at the headquarters of the United Nations mandated University for Peace (UPEACE) in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Teaching and Learning for a Sustainable Future is UNESCO’s response to that challenge, and a major contribution to the United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Development (Johannesburg, September 2002). By making the programme available as both a web site and a CDROM, UNESCO hopes to reach as many teachers as possible across the world. The programme can be used as it is, or adapted to local, national or regional needs. Many translations and adaptations are already foreseen.
